What is Botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin is an approved injectable solution harvested from the Clostridium botulinum bacteria that works by temporarily reducing muscle activity beneath the skin which leads to softening fine lines and wrinkles. Botulinum toxin can be used to treat and reduce wrinkles and fine lines on the face. Results are noticeable in the first 2 weeks of treatment and last 3 to 4 months before the medication diminishes.
